How to Become a Believer

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
Ephesians 2:8 & 9
1. Realize that God Loves You!
God loves you and He wants you to have peace with Him, and to have joy in life.
THE BIBLE SAYS..
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16
PEACE AND LIFE COME FROM.
“...we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Romans 5:1
Jesus said, “...I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”
John 10:10b
God loves you and all the people in the world. God wants you to have peace and enjoy life to the fullest. If that’s true, then why don’t you have peace in your life today?
2. Realize You are Separated from God
Sin separates us from God. God is Holy and He cannot tolerate sin. Sin separates us from God, but it doesn’t keep God from loving us and wanting us to come to Him.
THE BIBLE SAYS..
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23
“There are none righteous, no, not one.”
Romans 3:10
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 6:23

THE BIBLE SAYS..
“There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.”
Proverbs 14:12
3. Believe that God has Provided a Way
God has provided the way to get right with Him. The way is through Jesus Christ and the cross. Jesus died on the cross and He rose from the dead, paying the penalty for our sins. Jesus makes it possible for us to be reconciled with God.
THE BIBLE SAYS..
“But God demonstrated His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
Ephesians 2:8 & 9
Grace means God’s unmerited favor. God’s gift of salvation is free; there is nothing you can do to earn it. All you have to do is accept it, by receiving Jesus Christ.
4. Decide to Trust Jesus Christ
We receive Christ when we accept what He has done for us. We recognize that He died on the cross for us, in our place; and He rose again from the dead.
THE BIBLE SAYS..
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in...”
Revelation 3:20
“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Romans 10:9
