Why We Exist As A Church

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19

Rejoice in God’s Presence Through Worship

Worship is a vital part of our church life.

Reveal God’s Word Through Practical Teaching

Our teaching will never become a waste of people’s time, but be practical for day-to-day living.

Relate to God’s Family Through Fellowship

It is important to us that we encourage the gathering of people and the building of positive relationships.

Reinforce God’s People Through Training & Discipleship

We desire to make people faithful followers of Jesus Christ. Not religious, but involved in a Relationship with Jesus!

Reach Out With God’s Love Through Ministry

We believe that as long as someone in our area does not know Jesus Christ, we must continue to reach out and serve.

Duplicate what every church in town is doing. We constantly ask the question: What can we be in and to the Lompoc Valley that some other churches are not?
Tear down other churches, clergy or groups. There are too many people in need of the Lord and His love and too many children and youth who are in need of positive programs to assist them. We are too busy to debate, argue or spend our time putting anyone down. We just want to lift up Jesus.

In Essential beliefs – we have Unity

“There is but one Body and one Spirit...there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism and one God and Father of us all.” Ephesians 4:4-6

In Non-Essential beliefs – we have Liberty

“Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters... So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God.” Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22

In All Our beliefs – we show Love

“...and if I have the faith that can move mountains - but have no love, I amount to nothing at all.” 1 Corinthians 13:2

Doing Church as a Team – Seeing people

live out their gifts, talents and passions for God. People using what they have been given and joining with others is God’s effective design for fulfilling ministry.

The Best Church Around. There are many excellent churches in our area and we are honored to be here. We do not have the “corner” on truth and revelation. We have some things of value to share and we want to share them.
The Place For Everyone. No one church can be all things to all people all the time. We may, however, have something you are looking for and needing in your life.
Called to Produce Conformists. You do not have to pray as we do or worship as we do in order to be a part of Lompoc Foursquare Church. Though our worship is freeing and many do clap and raise their hands, others fold theirs and pray quietly. Some kneel during prayer, while others sit. The issue is not Style, but Substance. We desire to see people enjoy God and worship Him in reality and from the heart. Freedom is what we are called to and liberty is the best way for us to express that freedom. However, we will not allow our worship to be reduced to mere excitement or fanaticism.
Called to a Political Platform. Some churches become heavily involved in politics and the passing our of fliers, petitions, etc. We do not feel it is our assignment. We do not promote people and causes; we promote Jesus.
Called to be an Activist Church. Some churches want to race to picket or support or boycott. This also is not the call for our church. We do not want to be known for our causes or the last rally we promoted or attended. We desire to be known for our love of Jesus and our service to our community beyond our walls. If our causes got in the way of promoting Jesus, what gain would it be for us? We do want to touch our community with kindness, caring and acts of loving service. We desire to make a difference in the Lompoc Valley, Vandenberg Air Force Base and surrounding areas.

We believe a Great Commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission will grow a Great Christian and will grow a Great Church.

We believe that we are called to bring health to people by the power of the scriptures and the Holy Spirit. A bigger church is not better: Better is Better. Healthy is Better. It is our desire to accept each one where they are and help them grow. Jesus is more concerned with where we are going than where we have been. It is the desire of our heart to raise people up in the love, grace and knowledge of God and see everyone become healthy and strong. We must extend the same mercy to all. Since Jesus loves us, how can we do anything less than loveothers?

We believe we are to enjoy laughter, which is not only a good medicine, but is essential to us as a church family. Times to lighten up are critical to us and this joy of the Lord is our strength.

We Strive To See:

  • Every Member a Minister
  • Every God-given opportunity as an honor
  • Every Individual as Valuable
  • Every Person Grows (at their own pace)
